Had it happen. My solution is to use the mobile web site instead.

New contacts does not come up even for me

I've even had issues with contacts I had when I set up the app. Some of them get 'added', but it won't pull anything for them besides their screen name.

I had the same thing happen to me too when trying it out. We'll just have to wait for the next version I guess.
