how do I remove a follower? I tried clicking remove, buy that only removed them as a contact. What am I missing?

    I dont think you can, but that follower won't see your jaikus if you check the checkbox hide may jaiku from the public in your settings.

    So even though they are listed as a follower, they don't get my updates?

    They can follow you without you following them. You won't see what they say but they can see your stuff unless you are private
