The thing is Opera 9.5 has passed the ACID 2 test and IE 7 has
not. Besides that none of the current browsers have implemented
%100 of the W3C specs accurately. In the same way Jaiku handles IE
with custom CSS and JavaScript tweaks, it should also rely on
tweaks, etc. to be rendered correctly in Opera.
Finally, if Opera is the problem and not Jaiku, could you please
let me know the exact Opera bug that causes Jaiku to be rendered
incorrectly?

Because Opera is a lousy browser. I have more problems with Opera than IE, and that's saying a lot!

it's slow and hangs up. Sometines everyting does not load. BTW/ I meny 9.5 and not 8.5, typo on my part.
