That's exactly why I'm shooting TFP every weekend (except one -
I'm shooting a wedding then) for the rest of this year.
Mostly, it's a learning thing - new camera, learning to get to
grips with off-camera lighting properly, playing with techniques. I
do this by making and correcting mistakes.
The added benefit is, when I get it right, I get some good
portfolio fodder :)

It's great to learn from your mistakes.
Even better to learn from other peoples' mistakes; however, that requires more thought and subtlety.
