I want to make a website, a multilingual enhanced (glorified) podcast. And I want to learn a python webthingy. Recommendations? Django?

Yes and you might want to check this new framework out as well: http://mdp.cti.depaul.edu/ Best of luck and cheers from Vancouver!

Django does a TON of stuff for you, but you have to learn Django (luckily, they make it fairly easy with really good documentation). Django also makes the multilingual aspect really easy. Personally I've been liking web.py a great deal lately - but it's super minimalist.

Hadn't seen web2py before... it looks really neat.

Django is the best! There is free online book about it: http://djangobook.com/ .
